Can We Talk?

Happy Saturday!  I'm here today with my post for the Scraptownlady Blog.  A couple of weeks ago, I posted a simple pop-up card, and offered up a tutorial.  Several of you indicated that you would like one, so here goes - warning, lots of photos!

I love this Glamour Girls Stamp Set, and decided to create with it today.  Since it is the Halloween season, purple, black, and green, seemed the perfect color choices!

Here is my finished card:
Isn't she just fabulous?  You can find here in the Scraptownlady Store - see link below!  The text on the purple panel reads HEY, girlfriend!  Sorry about the watermark - couldn't find a good place to put it!

On to the tutorial...

Step 1.  Create your card base.  I chose to use an A2 base, so my card base is 5.5" x 4.25".

Step 2. Finish card as desired.

Step 3.  Create inside piece for pop-up.  It needs to be a bit smaller in length and width than your card base.

Step 3. Here you can see the insert size - I just laid it on the card for the visual effect. Don't glue! You're not finished yet!

Step 4. On your folded edge, decide how deep you need your pop-up to be, and draw a 'cheat' line. Find the center of that line.  Then decide how wide you want your pop-up to be and mark those lines..  Mine is about 3/4" wide.

Step 5. Cut in to your first drawn line.  You'll have a little flappy looking piece like mine above.

Step 6.  Open your insert base.  Use your fingers and gently push inwards on the flap you created.  When you get it like you want it, gently fold your card, and press the flap flat.  It should look like this!

Step 7.  Use adhesive of choice.  Apply to your flap.

Step 8.  Apply your inside sentiment, image, die cut, etc.  Voila!
It seems confusing, but once you've made one, you can make them without 'cheat' lines, as you will better understand the concept.  You'll soon be moving on to different sized pop-ups in the same card!

Thanks for hanging in with me - this was a long post!  Hope you enjoyed it.  Let me know if there are other things you'd like to see tutorials on - I'm willing to give it a try!

Be sure to check out the Scraptownlady Store for all of your card and scrapbooking supplies!  Also, we hope you will follow the Scraptownlady Blog!  There is always something new and beautiful to see - the DT is amazing!

Yumi and Fumi meet Perfect Layers!

Good morning!  I was excited to be invited to participate in today's blog hop, featuring Perfect Paper Crafting, and Yumi and Fumi Handmade.  I always love working with my Perfect Paper Crafting tools, and I've had such fun coloring and creating with these adorable images!

Perfect Paper Crafting is giving away a $50 gift card, and Yumi & Fumi is giving away 4 stamps to 4 different winners!  Yumicorn, Fumi Panda, A.J. Lion, and Chasezilla are the stamps that will go to the lucky winners.  Be sure to comment on each participating blog!  (List Below)

Without further ado, here are my cards:a

This is Yumi with Birdie.  Isn't she just adorable?  I used my Perfect Layers Rulers to create my beautiful mats. The image is colored with Copic Markers.

Meet Winter Yumi.  She's doing a bit of snowball plotting.  I just love the look on her face - she looks like shes pretty sassy!  The straight mats are all created with my Perfect Layers Rulers.  The 'snow' is white cardstock, and it's torn with the Perfect Layers Tearing Rulers.  I used the small and large scallops.  Dabbed on some glue and glitter for snowfall.

I hope you enjoyed these sweet images.  You have from 6:00 a.m. PST today, until 12:00 a.m. PST, October 28th to hop to all of the participating blogs.  Winners will be posted on the Perfect Paper Crafting Blog, and the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Blog.  Good luck!

Let Me Tell You...

Happy Weekend!  Hope you are enjoying a relaxing Saturday.  It's my day to post for the Scraptownlady Blog, and I thought I'd create with some Carta Bella Papers.  Love, love, love them!

I distressed with some Wild Honey, attempting to bring the frame out a bit.  In real life, the color matches up with the tiny flowers on the background paper beautifully.  However, I could not get the camera to work very well today.  You'll just have to trust me on this one!

Several of you asked for a tutorial on the pop up cards.  I will have one ready in a day or two!  Be sure to check out all of the fun new items at the Scraptownlady store!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Hugs...

Creations by AR Harvest Pumpkin

Good Morning, and welcome to the Creations by AR New Release Blog Hop!
Today, the AR ladies are sharing Adela's beautiful new template, 'Harvest Pumpkin Set'.
I think that these turned out so well - can't you just imagine one at each place setting for Thanksgiving Dinner?

Here is Pumpkin #1

And Pumpkin #2

Here is what they look like with their tops off, filled with candy corn.

There is also a beautiful card in this set!  You get the pumpkin template, the leaves, the flourish, and the card!
What a great set for your collection!  As always, this set comes in PDF, SVG, and DXF files.

I am so grateful to my friend, and teamie, Sue Kment.  As you know, I normally use the PDF files, and cut the pieces with scissors.  However, this month, Sue graciously cut my pieces out while cutting her own, and mailed them to me.  You see, I'm in the midst of helping DH put a roof on the house, painting shutters, doors, etc., AND creating for a baby shower!  Time this month was a real issue, and Sue saved me! Thank you, dear friend!!!

So, how can YOU win this template?
Leave a comment on each blog (see below!)
Comment on the AR Facebook Page
Comment on the Papercraft Planet Group

Comments will be accepted until October 20 (12:00 noon EST)
One random winner will be announced on October 21st on the AR blog, the AR Facebook Page, and the AR Papercraft Planet Group.

Time to hop on!!!  You won't want to miss the other lovely creations today!!!

Witch's Brew...

Happy Saturday!  It's my day to post on the Scraptownlady Blog, and I decided to create with some 'Thrilling' papers.  I'm not a great lover of Halloween, but I love Authentique, and this collection rocks!  This card has no stamping - It's simply created with patterned papers!

When you open the card, the sentiment pops up - what fun!

So easy to do - if anyone would like a tutorial, let me know!

Hope you are following the Scraptownlady Blog, and getting your daily doses of inspiration!  Hop on over to the Scraptownlady Store, and have a look around!  Cheryl charges only actual shipping for items that you purchase!
