Just a Little Something...

Hello there!

It's Wednesday, so it's my day to post over at the Scraptownlady blog...
Today, I'm sharing a fun creation, using a darling stamp, some dies, and some beautiful
papers, all from the Scraptownlady Store.

Here's my card:

Supply List Below!
 Meet Pearl.
Pearl is a bit late to Emma's birthday party.
If you look in the window, you can see that Emma is watching for her,
and is so excited that Pearl has arrived!

lol...That's my version anyway!  I'd love to hear your version!

 Here is my supply list:

Poppy Stamps Dies: Grand Madison Window
Copic Markers
Amuse Cardstock

Hope you will head over to the Scraptownlady store and do a bit of shopping!!!

Designer's Tip:
Having trouble keeping those dies and papers in place on your cutting plates?
Use an ordinary post it note to hold them.  You can cut right through the post-it, and it peels off so easily when you are finished!

Thanks for stopping by,

Hydrangea Gift Set

Happy Wednesday...
Today, I'm sharing my first project as a Designer for ScrapTownLady!

Isn't this card beautiful?  The card base and envelope are from a 10 pack made by KaiserCraft. You will be seeing more pink card bases in the future!  The stamps and dies are Impression Obsession, and will be listed below.  The DP is also KaiserCraft, and will be listed below, as well.

The photo above shows all of the lovely layers.  Just look at all of those tiny, beautiful flooms!
This card has so much dimension - everything is lifted off the page, and looks so realistic!

This little gift box was created to accompany the greeting card. This set is going to a very special
young lady.  One thing that I love about Kaiser Craft Paper Pads, is that each pad comes
with several pages of tags that can be stamped or written on.  There are also
larger tags that can be used on scrapbook pages for journaling,
or on card fronts.
Side View showing the coordinating DP.

View of the back of box.

Here is the set together. Doesn't that flower look SO real?  The KaiserCraft 'tag', and the card, were stamped with a sentiment from the Hydrangea Stamp Set.

Designer Tip:  When you have a paper pad, like the one above, what do you do with your scraps?
Well...attach an envelope to the back flap of the paper pad, and insert all of your
scraps inside.  No mess, no waste of scraps, and the pads stack beautifully on your
desk, or in a basket or drawer.

Hope you enjoyed this project!
I'll be back next Wednesday with something new!

Hugs...
Patti J.

Creations by AR - May New Release

Welcome to Creation by AR's May New Release Blog Hop!
The DT has been enjoying a wonderful new creation by Adela, and we are here today to share it with you!

Think Wedding, Prom, Military Ball....

Creations by AR Tux and Gown Box Set

The Tux

The Gown

This photo shows the 'boxes' removed from their finery, and filled with candy.  To close, simply place the tux or gown over the candy filled box, and turn over.  Voila!

All Creations by AR templates come in SVG, DXF, and PDF format.
As always, my projects have been cut by hand, using the PDF format.
I printed, cut, scored, assembled, decorated, and staged in a little over two hours.
Not bad for an old woman with scissors, and a hard time making important decisions like...
 which jewelry 'she' needed, or
which color flower for 'him',
and most important, which chocolates to fill these darling boxes with!
.....tee hee!

Now, I know that you would LOVE to own this template!
How can you win?  It's so easy!

Leave comments on each Designer's blog listed below and/or....

Comments will be accepted until May 24th (12:00 noon EST)

One random winner will be announced on May 25 at:

Now, it's off to hop!

Patti J. (me!)

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!

Congratulations!

Happy Sunday :)

I recently needed to create a card for two very sweet ladies who have 'tied the knot'.
These ladies were married about a month ago, and I wanted this to be a perfect card for them, as they are very special to us!

And here is the inside, crooked lines and all!

Here is what was accomplished.
First....I went to see my friend, Shirley, and 'shop' in her fabulous crafty room. She just happened (as always!) to have exactly what I needed - some little wooden 'potty people' pieces by Studio Calico.

Also, Amy Kolling is one of my favorite paper crafters. She has such a delightfully fresh, clean and simple style, and I never leave her blog without smiling.  This card, by Amy, was my total inspiration!

That inspiration piece, along with some Amuse cardstock, heart dies, & ink,
some stamps from Michael's $1 bin,
and a black Copic marker to color my people,
were responsible for a perfect Congratulations card!

EDIT:  Exciting news!  The Kreate-a-Lope is available for purchase at Scraptownlady!
Check it out!!!

Hope your weekend has been wonderful.

Hugs,
Patti J.

Messy Bessy meets Scrap Town Lady!

Hello!

DH is at a Cardinal's baseball game today, so I have some 'me' time.
Thought I'd drag out the Copics and color a bit!

I saw a challenge for a monochromatic project yesterday, while perusing Facebook, and decided to give it a try.  It's a Bestie's Challenge, and you can find it HERE.  Then I went to Etsy, and found this Sherri Baldy 'Messy Bessy' image HERE.  Just had to 'adopt' her....lol.

Once she was all finished, and I was ready to assembe the card, I realized that it was not all going to fit.  Hmmm......what to do, what to do?  Read on!

I simply took my craft knife and 'raised' up her bow!  It not only gave the card a bit of a 3-dimensional touch, it let the pieces all fit together beautifully!
Mistakes = creative opportunities, right?

My first box of Scrap Town Lady goodies arrived yesterday, and OH MY, OH MY, what beautiful papers it contained!  This pad is 'Renew' from Authentique and you can purchase it HERE.  When making my card, I couldn't figure out what sentiment to use on this sweetie.  With the ladybug, I felt it should be a bit nature-ish, but nothing was jumping out at me.  I turned over the pad of 'Renew', and VOILA!  On the back cover, was this perfect sentiment, frame and all.  I only had to cut it out and mount it.  Pretty cool, don't you think?

Hope you are having a great week, and...
that the weekend brings you oodles of crafty time!

Thanks for dropping by today,

Hugs...

Anything Goes with Earthtones at Oozak!

Hello!
I'm here today with my card for Oozak's May Challenge "Anything Goes with Earthtones".

Supplies: La La Land Fisherman Luka, Sandpaper, La La Land Digi Image (fence/rocks), Green trim from my stash, Cardstock, Copic Markers: E00, E11, E13, E21, E31, E33, E35, E37, E81, W1, W3, W5, G43, G46, R17, RV21, B000, B0000, BG0000
I had fun creating a scene with this adorable Fisherman Luka image, some sandpaper, and some wonky green trim from my stash.  The stamp, and all Copics used can be found in the Oozak Store
I didn't add a sentiment yet, as I'm not sure who will receive this card, or for what occasion.

Just a reminder - you still have plenty of time to link up your card at Oozak's blog!
Let us see your earthtones - you could be the May winner!

Have a great day!

Welcome, Grumpy!

A few weeks ago, I was invited to attend a 'doggie shower', and to bring our fur legged babies, Flake and Sophie.  Since Flake and Sophie are a bit grumpy themselves, I chose to take our uber-sweet grand-daughter-doggie, Rosie to the park instead!
Here we are, enjoying the day...

This lady is a LONG time friend.  She and her DH cannot have children, so believe me when I say that this puppy shower was SO special, so much fun, and such a great day.
I needed a very special, and unique card.
As in many previous emergencies, CardMaker Magazine came to my rescue!  In their Spring Special Issue, 'Quick & Easy Cards', on page 34, is a card designed by Janice Kohles.  (Sorry, I tried to link Janice up, but could not find active link - if you know Janice, please tell her she's 'famous' :)
Anyhooooo.....here is MY version of Janice's card, using an actual photo of our Grumpy!

I literally grabbed scraps of leftovers, and an OLD sheet of woodgrain CS, so am not even going to attempt to list supplies here.  Hope Grumpy and Rosie brought a smile to you on this beautiful day!

The 'kids' are safely in Germany.  If you would like to read about their travel from the US to Germany, and their days since, please feel free to check out DD's last few blog posts.  She loves to have visitors
and comments!  You can find her HERE.

If anyone knows where I can find stamps of the 'potty people' (you know, like the icons on a restroom door), please let me know!!!  Thanks in advance!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

Creations by AR - SOSN...Winter Mitten Set

Welcome to Creations by AR, Something Old...
...Something New!
I love taking an older template, and totally changing up the theme!

Couldn't resist 'tilting' the large mitten just enough that the words 'Pudding in the Mix' were visible.

For this project, the Winter Mittens Set is being used.
However, instead of a mitten, I've created an oven mitt, complete with a cake mix, frosting, and some cupcake liners.  This will make a fun last-minute gift for someone special, don't you think?
Here, I have enlarged and printed the mitten to be large enough to 'hide' the cake box.

Using the Pillow Top Technique (found on Stamp TV), some ink, and a sponge dauber,
lines were sponged, in two directions, giving the cardstock a quilted, fabric look.  In real life,
you just want to reach out and touch to be sure it's really paper!
In this photo, you can see that the frosting container has been 'hidden' under pretty papers and trims, and the mitten template has been reduced, cut on the fold, and used to create a gift tag.

You can find the Winter Mittens Set HERE. This set has three mitten templates: a mitten shaped Card, a mini Ornament, & a gift card Pouch.  The card even comes with a cutout for framing a photo or sentiment!
Creations by AR's templates come in SVG, DXF, and PDF files.
As I have no cutting machine, my projects always use the PDF files and my trusty scissors!

Thanks for stopping by today,
Patti J.

On a personal note...
Dear daughter and her amazing hubby, and of course, our sweet grand-doggie boarded their plane for Germany late last night.  We will miss them, but are so happy for the wonderful adventures that we know they will share over the next three years.
And...we applied today, for our passports!

Thanks to all of you for your thoughtful emails and cards, as we face this separation from them.

Melissa has previously lived out of country for a year, so we know we will get through this, but your kindness has been overwhelming.  Thank you for being such great friends!!!

Thinking of You...'Perfectly'

Wowzers, May is already zipping by!

Today, I'm sharing a card that was made almost entirely, using my Perfect Layers Rulers.
These rulers are right up at the top of my 'favorite' list!  They make getting a perfect mat so easy!

Each of my layers utilizes the 1/8" ruler.
These tools are so easy to use!  You can use any brand of craft knife, or even a rotary cutter!
Check out the company site for a tutorial video, on how to use them.  Check out the code on my sidebar for a discount on any order you place with Perfect Layers Papercrafting!
Please check out the Perfect Layers Facebook Page, as well!

The patterned paper is from an older Cosmo Cricket 6 x 6 pad called 'Togetherness'.
The stamps, and cardstock are from A Muse.
The flowers are from the "Charming Gardners' stamp set, and...
The sentiment is from the 'Friend to Friend' stamp set.
The flowers were outlined with Copic Marker R27, and blended with R32.
Inside petals were blended with YR30.
Leaves are outlined with G82.
DD and her DH are on the road again.
We miss them so much!  And Rosie....Oh my.  We had the grand-doggie for a month,
and she left a hole in our hearts, for sure! Even our dogs seem lost.
They are visiting Nick's family in the DC area, and will be leaving next Tuesday for their tour in Germany.  They'll be there for 3 years.
Thank you all so much for your patience,
and understanding, while family was our priority in April.
Have a great day!
Hugs & smiles,
Patti J.
