My Last DP Post . . .

Happy Wednesday!

Where has the time gone?  I can't believe that it's the end of February.  When I made the decision not to take on another term with Doodle Pantry, it seemed like a lifetime from then until now!  I had a wonderful time working with Laurie, and all of the team members.  I will miss them very much, but need to devote some time to some other things.  Laurie, and DT family, if you are reading - thank you SO much!  What a fun, sincere, and thoughtful group of ladies you are!

My last card as DT member features the Winter Song Birdies.  They are simply adorable!  I've created this card using the sketch from the Merry Monday Challenge #9.  These sketches are simple, fun, and best of all, I'm getting a great head start on my Christmas cards for 2012!

Have a great evening!  Thanks for stopping by.

I'll be back soon with the projects from the workshop last weekend :)

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.

"Sew" Rejected.....

Good morning!  I hope that you are having a great weekend.  Today is my workshop day, and tomorrow is a busy day as well.  We will go to church in the morning, and are going to the Fox Theater to see the live production of West Side Story in the afternoon.  Should be a wonderful day!

Since things have been "sew" hectic this week, I thought I'd share another publication reject with you.  This was for a "Sew" Thankful call.  Since sending it off, and having it declined, TAC (The Angel Company) went out of business, so I'm sorry to say that the stamps are no longer available, but I wanted to show the card anyway!

As you can see, this was created gatefold style.  The belly band was made so that the focal piece could be used as a magnet after opening the card.  I thought it turned out fairly cute...

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Monday should be back to normal.  I'm looking forward to seeing your weekend creations!

Hugs and blessings, my friends...off I go - wish me luck!

Thinking of you....

Good morning!  What a beautiful morning it is in Missouri!

Today is going to be another short post.  I think I mentioned that I'm doing two workshops for a Women's Wellness Weekend at a YMCA about an hour from here on Saturday.  Well, you know what that means!  My craft corner would scare the socks right off of you!  I'm busy cutting and scoring and packaging kits.  LOTS of kits!  Tee hee....

Anyway, back to business here!  I took my friend Shirley some lunch last week, when she was too sick to get out.  Lo and behold, she had the above project ready for us to create after lunch.  Shirley is an A muse demonstrator, so it's always fun to visit and look at her fabulous new 'stuff'!!!  Edited:  I think this technique is in this month's Technique Junkie....   This technique was shown on an Amuse video.  We used four colors of ink, and some small finger daubers.  The leaves were stamped normally, by pressing the stamp into the green ink.  The butterfly, however, was inked using the daubers.  We daubed the yellow first, then the red, then the brown, and stamped.  Isn't that a beautiful way of shading an image?

There is an inspiration photo at Flutterby Wednesday today, that I think captures the colors in this card beautifully, so I'm entering this card in their challenge!

Hope that you all have a delightful day - back to the grindstone for me!  DH has some more surgery at 11:30, so can't waste any time!

Thanks for stopping by to say hello!  I don't know about the rest of you, but Blogger's newest form of word verification is kicking my butt.  Sometimes it takes me 5 or 6 tries to read the words and retype them.  If I'm in a hurry to get someplace, I may have to just stop trying.  That is happening a lot.  If you are noticing a decline in your comments and visitors, it may be worthwhile to complain to Blogger!  Just sayin.....

Take care, friends!
Blessings,
Patti J.

Hey There, Hi, Hello....

Hooray for weekends!
Even though I'm retired, I still look forward to Saturday's, because my DH can be home with me.  Slow weekend here, but it's a THREE day weekend!  Dinner and a movie with high school friends of DH's tonight, church and a potato bake dinner tomorrow, and hopefully, a quiet day on Monday.  Of course, as we all know, never, EVER plan on a quiet day!

I have a card to share today that I made for the "Hey There, Hi, Hello" challenge at The Impression Obsession Blog.

I decided after using so much bling on the last couple of cards, that today's card should be pretty clean and simple.  That brought to mind the beautiful Colonial Life stamp from Impression Obsession.  A few minutes with some Copic markers, and a CAS card was born!  The hello sentiment was colored with a black marker, and was part of a longer sentiment....I wanted only the word hello.

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

Enjoy your weekend, and if you are traveling, please be safe!

Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.

P.S. Don't forget - you can still scroll down to the last post and sign up for some blog candy!
I need to re-iterate.....I was NOT published...lol....
I simply bought two magazines and need to give one away!  (silly me)

Could it be??? SUNshine? Blog Candy?

Hello!

Hope this is the beginning of a great day for all of you.  I just let the dogs in, and thought, "hmmmmm.....could it be?  Is that really SUNshine I see poking through those clouds?"  I think it just might be :)

Today's card was made 'just for fun'.  I have no idea who will receive it.  I saw a challenge at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog for a monochromatic card using a stamp found at the 7 Kids store, and I couldn't resist using this "Tweet Talk" image by Penny Black.  Click photo to enlarge!

Supplies: Penny Black Tweet Talk, Sentiment by Amy R., Flowers from Hobby Lobby, DCWV Pink CS, Doodlebug Designs "Sweet Cakes" Paper Pad, EK Success Corner & Border Punches, Copic Markers, Color Box Chalk Ink-Orchid Pastel, Doily from Dollar Tree, Dimensional Squares (Michael's)

I don't do monochromatic cards very often, so it just had to be a fun, frilly, cheerful, and 'bling-ful' card!  Pink is so much fun to create with, but I rarely choose that color, so this was fun!  Lee, if you are reading, this should make you grin for at least a few minutes!!!

So, folks, guess who did it again?  Yep, me.  Nope....did NOT get published again, but....

I bought the last issue of CardMaker Magazine, and it came with my subscription renewal too.  So....some lucky person will win my extra copy!  To enter, just leave me a comment on this post and tell me you'd like to win.  No need to be a follower (but I'd love it if you were!).  I'll draw a winner on Sunday, and mail out the magazine on Monday - fair enough???

Need some help - I am volunteering on Feb. 25th at a nearby YMCA Women's Wellness Weekend.  I'll be teaching several classes, and would love to know if any of you can hook me up with folks that would be willing to donate some Scor-Tape?  If I can't get some scor-tape donated, then they are planning for us to use Elmer's glue.  Ugh....we are doing gift bags, candy boxes, candy wrappers, and gift cards.  Elmer's would SO be my last choice!  lol...   If you know of any company out there that would help out, let me know!

One last thing....I had a lady e-mail me looking for an old set of TAC stamps - the Snowman Nativity.  If anyone has that set and would like to give it away, sell it, or loan it for a while, let me know.  I took all of my TAC stamps to the animal shelter a few weeks ago, or I would have a set!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings and smiles in measures of oodles!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope that you and your special someone have a nice day today.

We had quite a winter storm yesterday, so I'm in for the day!  DH had an encounter with some black ice on his way home from work last night, and his truck is WAY out of commission, so he has my car.  He's just fine - no injuries to him, just to the truck... can I just say how much I dislike those steel posts and cables in the highway medians?  lol...

The Valentine's card I began yesterday about 4 p.m. was put on hold - well, actually on 'stop'! until this morning.  I have a cute C.C. Designs Trevor (from All That Scraps) to share with you today.  Trevor apparently lives in Florida, or Hawaii, as he's not a bit chilly in his shirt sleeves.  He's on his way to surprise his sweetie with a bouquet of fresh tulips, and he's a bit nervous!  I'm sure his sweetie will love them!

Click to enlarge photos if you wish - I think I finally figured that system out!

Supplies: Tulip Trevor, Sparkle Hearts by Personalized by You (Archiver's), CC Designs Spring Sentiments, Copic Markers, White Vision Pen, My Mind's Eye "Love Me" Collection DP, DCWV Blue CS.

I'm entering this card into the "Anything Goes" challenge at All That Scraps.

I am also entering at "Queen of my Craftroom" - Valentine's Day Card for your Sweetheart

Happy Valentine's Day, dear friends!  Thanks for stopping by!

Reject.......thank goodness!

Hi there!

I don't know about you, but I'm shocked that it's already Thursday! Where did the week go?

Before I start jabbering, has anyone else's blog reverted back to the 'OLD' blogger style?  Sheesh, what is up with them?  Don't know why they can't leave well enough alone!

Things are slowly getting back to normal here. I decided that while I had already been away from the blog for a few days, now would be a great time to spend a few days getting tax things prepared. So, one day down, and a couple to go.

The card I have to show today is a publication reject. A while back, a call was sent out for projects using Baker's Twine. We were to think 'outside the box' and get very creative with our use of twine. Well, either I got too creative or not creative enough! Thank goodness I had a reject to show you today, as I don't have anything new prepared!

The papers are all Cosmo Cricket, the twine is mostly The Twinery & Jillibean. The sentiment is from the package of Cosmo Cricket.

Ta-da!

Hope that your week is going well, and that you have a nice, relaxing weekend ahead.

Thanks for stopping by, and for being patient with my status of MIA in Blogland!

Hugs and many, many blessings,
Patti J.

Goin' to the Chapel...

So...by now, you are probably wondering what our little family has been up to....

We actually left early Thursday morning to attend our beautiful daughter's wedding!  Here is a photo of the happy couple.

Our new son-in-law is wonderful, handsome, and very much loves our daughter.  We met his parents this weekend, and they are warm, loving, thoughtful people - exactly the kind of in-laws one hopes that their son or daughter is blessed with.  Jan, if you are reading this - thank you for your friendship.  I look forward to spending more time together!

Melissa and Nick found a special little chapel at Garden of the Gods for their ceremony.  This was actually an 'elopement', that the parents and siblings were invited to share with them - what a blessing for us.  Nick will be deployed (his 3rd) sometime in the near future, and it was important to them both to be married prior to his deployment.  The beautiful country style chapel seated about 12, with room for a few to sit in the back.  Melissa made all of the flowers and decorations, and her veil, which turned out so beautifully.  We ladies all went for manicures on Friday morning, and Melissa and I shared Saturday morning at the salon, getting her hair and make up done.  We had wonderful family meals on all three nights.  Of course, we had SNOW!!!  It was beautiful.

Okay, thanks for letting me brag and boast a bit!  We are very happy for them, and wish them all of God's blessings.

Hope that you are all enjoying the Super Bowl - the commercials have been pretty good, and half time was even fun.

Take care, and I'll be by to see what you are up to as soon as I can get there!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Knocking...

Hopefully, this finds you all well, and enjoying your weekend!  Ours has been very busy!  I'll tell you about it tomorrow!

I have one more new release from Doodle Pantry to share today.  This one is called Knocking.   A bit of copper cording was wrapped around the card front.  This was such an easy card!  Hopefully, it will be a comfort to someone at some point.  I thought it was a very nice image.

Kraft CS base, Office Max brand white CS, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Copic Markers, Coppor Cording, Brown A Muse CS.

Thanks for dropping by today!  I'll be around to check on all of you tomorrow!  Thanks for being patient with me.  Life just sorta gets hectic and crazy now and then, doesn't it?  Whew....

Smiles!!!

Thank you so very much...

Hi ya, and Happy Friday!  Woot woot - it's a weekend!

I have another of the Doodle Pantry new release digi images to share today!  This one is called Vintage Place Setting.  I think it is so pretty!  There are a few different sentiments, and of course, this beautiful image.  I considered distressing it, but thought how pretty it would be to make it look like beautiful china.

Coloring is with Copic Markers.  Used a dot of Sakura Starburst Glitter Pen here and there for sparkle.

The DP is some that I found while shopping one day.  It's called Ella Blue, by g.c.d. studio's.  It is a linen textured paper, and I thought it was perfect for this image.  Mixing up the patterns, and cutting the 'chair rail' type stripe of DP makes it have the feel of a formal dining room, don't you think?

All righty, this is another quick post!  I have some family commitments, so if I don't get by to visit your blogs this weekend, I'll do so next week!

Thanks for dropping by - have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Patti J.

Beware - the Birdies are on Snowboards!

Good morning, and Happy February!

Since it is the 1st of the month, it's time for the Doodle Pantry new release digital images!  I have a pretty busy week, so today's card features one of Laurie's fabulous PRE-COLORED images, the "Snowboard Birdie".  This sweet little critter would make an awesome kid's card!

It doesn't show in the photo, but the ear muffs have red Fun Flock (remember that stuff?) on them, and the snowboard and goggles have a layer of Glossy Accents for shine...who can resist a bit of shine?

The new challenge starts today at the Doodle Pantry Blog!  Just for entering the challenge, you can recieve the new release, "Cocoa Cup Ants" free!  Also, the new release "Football & Helmet" is free in February with any purchase!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

Hugs and blessings,
Patti J.
