As I look at the blank inside page on the screen, I'm thinking I will ink up the airplane stamp, stamp it off on a scrap, then stamp it onto the panel so that it's fairly transparent....this just looks too unfinished...

Edited: Please, please send up some good thoughts, and prayers for those in the 'line of fire' in Colorado Springs. As of 2:00 this morning, there were 32,000+ evacuated, many left knowing they have nothing to come home to. Our friend, Lee Murphy's daughter is one that was evacuated...so please pray for her!
This photo was taken yesterday afternoon, from our daughter's apartment complex.
If you look to the left, you can see the front of the apartment buildings.
The fire is actually 1.5-2 miles away, and at least for now, she is safe, but it is very frightening.
Certainly makes our tree in the photo below look silly. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Here's the excitement at our house on the hill yesterday. I was chatting with DD yesterday evening, and heard a horrendous cracking, sounded like gunshots. The dogs began barking wildly, and would not settle down. I walked to the sunporch doors to see what was making them so crazy, and found this:
The limb actually broke off and fell at an angle, missing the corner of the house by a mere inch, thank goodness! Also grateful that the man that mows for us was not mowing under the tree at the time - Yikes!
Sigh...another Honey-Do for DH. Poor guy!
Thanks so much for stopping by - love having you visit!
Hugs and smiles,
Patti J.
What an awesome on the sketch challenge - I just don't have that knack!!! Great job and love that airplane. Thanks for yesterday - I needed that!!! Off to work - ugh but going to love the $$$, will have to put it aside for Collinsville.
ReplyDeleteGlad the limb missed the house, and the lawn man! As for this cute plane card, all I can say is "take me away"!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Patti! Let's be careful out there!!
ReplyDeleteI will so keep them in my prayers. Your card is totally awesome... love your design! You're such a rebel sketch flipper (0=
ReplyDeleteLove the way you used the twine on your great card! I'm glad the branch missed your house - whew!
ReplyDeleteI love how you curled that twine, Patti. How did you adhere it so neatly? Prayers heading upward for all those affected by the wild fires. I'm also very glad that tree branch didn't hurt anyone or your house!
ReplyDeleteNice take on the sketch and fun colors and image! Glad that limb decided not to hurt your house and i hope things get better in Colorado!
ReplyDeleteI really like your card, it's so manly :o)
ReplyDeleteI followed your link from the Outlawz Followers Forum thread.
Definitely praying for those affected by and those who know someone who is affected by the fires.
You are right. These fires are so horrible & then there are the floods on the other side or here we are having the horrible drought. We had the fire last year. We are praying not to have another this year. Love your card & I love to move sketches around too. (Aren't they suggestions?) LOL Enjoyed dropping by. Oh, & I went to Pinterest to follow you too.
ReplyDeleteYou're reaching for new heights,(pun intended) flipping things like that, Patti!!! Your card is AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteI also have friends evacuating - so have been praying for them all.
Fortunate the branch missed the house....what a cozy sunporch you have.
That fire has been on our news ... it must be absolutely terrifying for all those people.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your broken tree managed to miss your lawn man!
Fab card by the way, I'm lovin your twirly twine smoke trail!
First, your card is adorable! Then...oh, my. Those fires are scary...I'm glad Melissa is pretty far away at this point! How weird that the branch fell but I'm thankful that no one was in the way!
ReplyDeleteOh my that is a beautiful design my friend, love that stamp
ReplyDeleteI am sending lots of prayers and keep everyone in my thoughts with all this unbelievable devastation happening.
Hugs sweetie
Beautiful card - love the twine as smoke - so cute! We will be praying for your daughter. I know that is a scary situation.
ReplyDeleteThat little twine trail on this Patti is just brilliant! What a great, fantastic, totally awesome card. Love what you did with this sketch!
ReplyDeleteI love your card Patti! The blue against the black is awesome and the red airplane makes it pop some more. Love it!
ReplyDeleteGlad the tree didn't hit the house or or any living creature! Must have been quite a start though!
Totally awesome idea to use the baker's twine as the contrail on the plane! Now if I only had an airplane image I would be CASEing this one immediately! TFS!
ReplyDeleteSo very fun...love how you attached the sentiment to the inside. Wow, you and your home escaped that tree--scary!
ReplyDeleteHi, Patti! I pray all is well in Colorado for your daughter and friend!
ReplyDeleteUGH...gives me shivers thinking about it, since, were evacuated during the Arizona Wallow Fire last June, for 7 days!
We had a tree break 2 years ago....fortunately we were able to save it, and, still baby it with straps and a big metal bands around the middle of it....
It would have been like a death in the family, if we had lost it! It is one of a set of 2 beautiful global willows in the front....
Take care!
