Happy Saturday!

Well, we have some snow on the ground! I'm thinkin' the drifts are maybe over a foot. The Weather Reports say that Farmington had 4-7" in actual accumulation. The sun came out today and melted quite a bit of the top layer, so now we have our fingers crossed that this won't turn to ice after dark! Hope that where you are is warm and dry!

I have a couple of cards today - the first one is for the House Mouse Challenge #61. The challenge was to create a faux grid. I created my grid using the Scor-Pal, after coloring my image. I then applied a couple of layers of clear embossing powder. Hope you like it!

The next card is for the Cuttlebug Spot challenge. The challenge for this week was to use silver and black. Here is my card for the challenge - hope you like it!

I had a tough time with the pictures today - cards look all crooked and misshapen - sorry! Couldn't fix the glare on the mouse card - sheesh! Some days are just like that, YOU know what I mean, I know you do!!! Hoping that DD will have time soon to give me some lessons with my camera!

Well, have a blessed Sunday, and if I don't see you before, I'll be back for a Magical Monday! Here is a sneak peek of my Monday project!

Yee Ha! ... and ... Happy Birthday DD !!!

Good morning!

Before I show you my card for today, I want to wish our beautiful daughter a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She is 29 years young today! Guess that makes it hard for ME to be 29!!! Lol... If you get a chance drop by her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday - thanks!

Today's card is using an Inky Impressions stamped image that my dear friend, Crystal sent me some time ago. The challenge at Inky Impressions is to use pink (Kim, you reading???), and hearts on our projects. I thought this lil' cowgirl Lili could meet that criteria!

Colored with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and blended with low odor mineral spirits - Great twines came from O'Dear's, our LSS - added a few Stickles dots here and there!

I am also entering this here:

Belli Challenge #83 - use hearts

Crazy 4 Challenges - Design card/project with a Pink Theme

Lexi's Creations - Valentine

I'm sure there are other challenges out there, but I must get back to my paperwork in the office, so maybe next week!!!

Have a wonderful day - it's closing in on a weekend!

An "Other Lovelie"!!!

Suzanne, at "Other Lovelies" had a challenge this week to use stickers on our cards. Ugh... I dislike stickers... however, I REALLY like Suzanne, SO.... here is my card for her challenge. The word, and the largest of the boxes are both stickers. The stamp is an Inkadinkado $1 stamp from Jo'Ann's. All coloring was done with Tombow's.... Hope you enjoy it!!!

Mer Ian Freebie!

The Greeting Farm is having a CHA Relay! They posted a free digi image today - we were to create something with it, post it by 6 p.m. CST, and give them our email address. They will then send us another free digi to have completed by tomorrow at 6 p.m.! As long as you participate and meet deadlines, you will get free images all week!
Here is my card for the first image!

Hope you like it!

I just had to give this sweet little mermaid some body jewelry! He has a gorgeous diamond necklace on, AND a pretty purple jewel in his belly button! Lol... He is just darling in real life - didn't photograph too well!

Have a great night!

Think Love...

Hello friends!

Can you believe the weekend is over, and it is already Monday? Sheesh!

Well, at least it's Magical Monday!

Today's challenge at There's Magic In the Air with Paper Cupcakes comes from Kim!

The image this week is Think Love, and Kim's challenge is to use this wonderful image on a box, bag, or holder of some sort. How much fun is that!

I happened to have just acquired a box of Petaloo flowers that came in this delightful RED box, complete with drawer! I simply popped out the enclosed window, and added Nina's darling artwork, and of course some chocolate, and voila!

I printed the image and colored it once, then shrunk it down a bit, reversed it, and colored it again. I popped up the second image with dimensional dots.
Hopefully, it looks like the love of mother and child!

All coloring is done with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and low odor mineral spirits.
Thanks for stopping by - I hope that you like my little creation!
Be sure to run over to Nina's blog and snag this image! Once you do, be sure to play along? The randomly picked challenge winner will receive a free Nina May image. I can't wait to see what you create with Nina's beautiful image, and Kim's challenge!
I also want to take a minute to apologize. I have been literally buried in tax paperwork, and have had very little time to get around to your blogs to see what's going on in your world!
Hopefully, the next few days will finish some stacks of paperwork, and allow some time once
again for 'play'!!! Forgive me - I will come to see you soon!

Moxie Fab - Start to Finish!

I finished a card this morning for the Moxie Fab World's "Start to Finish" challenge. Cath has challenged us to complete a card - finish the inside AND the outside! I quickly jumped on this challenge, as I really need to start doing a little more to the insides of my cards - thanks Cath!!!

I am also entering this in the Mojo Monday weekly challenge -
Here is Mary's wonderful sketch:

Silly me, try as I might, I couldn't get the sentiment to photograph well. If I tried to adjust contrast or brightness, it was affecting the entire card, AND... I realized after I posted the photo that my thumb had mashed the ribbon! Lol...

Here is my card:

and the inside...!!! (did I mention thanks Cath???)

What's in it:
DCWV Garden Party Stack, Stampin'Up's Tempting Turquoise Ink, Kaiser Crafts Pearls, and a Verve 'Plain Jane' sentiment.

I hope your day was filled with blessings - I was lucky enough to spend part of mine (the before taxes part...lol) with my BSFF Shirley, and we got in some time in her girl-cave playing with some new TAC images!

Big hugs - see you tomorrow!

Love...

Happy Tuesday!

I have a card tonight for Suzanne's Thoughtful Thursday challenge at "Other Lovlies". The challenge was to make a Valentine. Here is my card...

If you have not played in Suzanne's challenge, you should run over and do so! She has a great prize, and when I looked last, there were only two entrants! You can use any stamps, digi or rubber, and any DP - no need to buy anything extra - you can use what you have on hand!

I'm also going to enter this card in the Creative Belli Challenge #82, which is to use glitter or rhinestones (got lots of them going on!). It's hard to tell but the flourish is glittered with a glitter pen, and the lower section is all rhinestones.

The last challenge I'm entering this card in is a color challenge at Papertake Weekly. The challenge is: Pretty Pink Papertake. We are to use predominantly pink on our cards.

I have one more quick card to show. The challenge at 365 Cards today (day 325) is: Imagine This: Chocolate. No explanation needed! I'm also entering this one at Creative Card Crew, where the challenge is: 'Punch it'!

Well, I hope that you like these! I am trying to find a bit more time in my girl-cave. Hopefully, I'll have some fun things to show tomorrow!

Take care!

Tons of Love...

Can you believe that the weekend has come and gone so quickly? Many of you are off work/school tomorrow due to Martin Luther King Day. Hopefully the extra day will give you a chance to reflect on the holiday, and to rest up a bit more!

It is also Magical Monday at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes!

Our challenge this week comes from Olga Jewell. Olga is so much fun! Her challenge is to use Nina's free digital image for the week, Ton's of Love, and to add some RBS's to it! She is challenging you to use Red Ribbon, Buttons, and Glitter, OR something that Sparkles!

What a joy this image was to work with! I tried three times to give this darling elephant a real fabric skirt, and three times, I had to re-color and start over, SO.... she has lots of sparkles on her skirt instead! (Pink sparkles, Kim!!!) Having just finished reading Water for Elephants, this pretty elephant made me think of Rosie from the book, and Rosie wore pink sequins!

Today would have been my mother's 77th birthday, and she would have loved the bling on this card! Happy Birthday mom!

Here's a shot with sparkles on her skirt!

Another shot with Red Ribbon, and Buttons!

Hurry over to There's Magic in the Air, and pick up your free image! Create something fun, and enter it in the weekly challenge - you could win something totally cool! While you are on your computers today, be sure to check out Nina's Store - Paper Cupcakes! She has just posted 27 (TWENTY-SEVEN!!!) new images! You won't be disappointed!

Have a wonderful Monday! Can't wait to see what you create!
I promise to try harder to post a bit more this week! We've been laying a new floor in our sunporch (it's nearly half finished!), and getting started on taxes, so I've been a bit busy.

Hugs!

2010 Calendar

Last year, my BSFF (best stampin' friend forevah), Shirley, thrilled me at Christmas with a little desk calendar that I absolutely did NOT want to retire at the end of the 2009. We spent a good amount of time on the computer one day printing out a 2010 calendar that could be pasted over the 2009 calendar. Well, with the holidays, etc., 'you know who' never got around to changing her calendar over. But that's okay - it is so stinkin' cute that I figured I could look at it for another 12 months and just not worry about what day it is!

Lo and behold, when Shirley and I got together to exchange our Christmas loot (we spoil each other terribly!), she had made me another calendar for 2010 (SQUEAL!!!). Have I retired last year's calendar yet? Nope! Too cute to take down!

Here are a couple of the pages of Shirley's 2010 calendar (to die for CA-UTE!). This is an A2 sized calendar made from a 1/2 sheet of 8.5 x 11 CS. When the months change, you just take the ribbon out, flip the calendar to the other side, and put the ribbon back in!

Anyway, I was doing a class this morning, and due to surgeries, etc., the numbers kept dribbling down, until I only had four that could make it. So, last night at about 10 p.m., I decided to make each of my 'students' a calendar for my New Year's gift to them. Below are photo's of my calendar before adding the ribbon. Note that I used very quick stamps that required little or no coloring, as it WAS 10 p.m. and I was making four of these! lol...

I hope you like it! I am so blessed that this wonderful hobby that I love has given me such wonderful friends - you all know who you are!

Have a good night!

Meet Miss Kitty...

Meet Miss Kitty!

Miss Kitty is Nina's free image at There's Magic in the Air with Paper Cupcakes this week! Is she not just the cutest little kitty? Talk about fun to color!

Every Magical Monday at TMITA/PCC, Nina posts a free digital image. Please hurry right over and grab your image! We'd love to see you enter this week's challenge, hosted by Danielle Lord, which is to use Nina's Miss Kitty image, but to also incorporate stripes on your project. How much fun is that!

Here is what I did! Note to Kim and Sam - Look at BOTH pictures! I really DID finish the inside of my card!

All coloring was done with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and mineral spirits for blending. I printed the image once, colored it, printed it again so that Miss Kitty's head could be popped out with dimensional dots, and then printed it once again, to pop up the bow and the heart on her dress.

Hope that you like it! Be sure to go to the Paper Cupcakes Store and see all of Nina's wonderful images!

Have a wonderful Magical Monday!

Botty Over You!

I was so excited when Kristal asked me to be a Guest Designer for The Digi Kitty!

I love working with the fun and unique images that Kristal designs! I have entered many of her challenges, and even won one or two!!!
I’ve been lucky enough to have exchanged several e-mails over the last few months with Kristal, and I believe she is a good person, a good mom, and a good Christian, and I feel honored to be working with her!

For my project, which was hosted by Emma, I was asked me to create a Valentine Gift Bag or Box using one of her Valentine images. I chose these adorable “Botty Over You” images. The images are colored with colored pencils, and embellished with real hardware from DH’s tool drawer, Diamond Dots, Glitter & Glaze Pens, gemstones, and a teensy piece of ribbon at the bottom of the girl’s dress. I also made a matching greeting card. The images on the card were colored with TomBow Markers.

I hope you all love these images as much as I do! Run over to the Digi Kitty Store to grab your own set! They are inexpensive, fun to color and embellish, you have them instantly after purchase, and kids of all ages will love to receive them!
Have a great day!

Does Anyone Know???

I currently hold my workshops (classes?) at my LSS.

However, we have a huge sunporch, and it's not used for much. I am considering holding these workshops at home, rather than in town. It's a lot of work to move all tools and supplies to town and carry them up and down two flights of steps.

Does anyone know the legalities of doing something like this in one's home?

If I do a free workshop, it's probably not an issue - it would just be like having company in, etc., and our homeowner's insurance would kick in if one of the ladies fell and got hurt.

However, we all know we can't afford to do classes several times monthly for free. If we charge for the classes in our home, will homeowner's insurance still cover?

I'm hoping that someone knows the answers! I plan to contact our agent tomorrow, but thought I'd ask the 'smartest audience in the world' first!

Big hugs!

At the Beach...

At the Beach...Brrrr...don't we wish!

Help...I've fallen and I can't get up! (lol)

Mary's challenge #60 at House Mouse, is to use the "On the Beach" Theme.
At first, I didn't think I had a thing to create with. Then BAM, it hit me!
While I was at Hobby Lobby the other day, their stamps were all 50% off,
and I bought this cutie patootie! So... here is my card!

I had some scraps in my stash - one looked like sand, and the other like ocean waves, and another scrap that had these flip flops. The 'drink' is pink - all coloring is done with my Koh-I-Noor pencils.

_

I am also entering this card at Pile it On, where challenge #30 is 'Clear'. As you can see, I've put Clear Laquer on the glass, so I think this works!

_

Also, the challenge at Creative Card Crew is 'Distressing'. I have distressed everything here with my Colorbox Chalk Chestnut Roan Ink and a sponge.

_

I had dinner tonight at Los Margurita's with my BF Tami, and OMG, I ate WAY too much, and am so full! I can't believe it's been over four months since we have gotten together. Tami is one of the few things I miss about working! We worked together from 1996-2008. Love ya Tam!

_

DH got to his jobsite today (4.5 hr. drive) to find a busted water main, so he's wet from the waist down, high temp there today was 20, so believe me when I tell you he is shivering HIS timbers!!!

_

Well, I'm off to think about what I'm going to do on a project due the 10th!

_

Hope that you are all staying warm and healthy, and are enjoying this wonderful life!

Magical Monday - Painted Pony

It's another Magical Monday at There's Magic in the Air!
Before I go any further, though, I have to share my exciting news with you!
Leigh Ann, DT member at TMITA is going through a very sudden 'move'. Due to this move, she has had to step down from her DT position. We are all sad to see her go, wish her the best,
and hopefully, she'll get to return in the future.
In the meantime, as you know, I've been serving as Guest Designer for December, and Nina has asked me to step in for the remainder of Leigh Ann's DT time. So....I cannot say that I will be filling Leigh Ann's shoes, as that's impossible, but I will be on the Design Team at TMITA through March! I am SO excited! Hope to see all of you participating in the weekly challenges!!! Pinch me!
Now...back to business...
This week's free image at There's Magic in the Air is Nina's adorable "Painted Pony".

It's Patti's week to issue the challenge, and she's challenged us all to use these colors on our cards/projects.

You do not have to use Stampin' Up colors - just come as close as you can!

* * *

I didn't have these colors, so I just used my Tombow Markers and matched up as well as I could. These colors are pretty easy to substitute!

I hope you like this darling image as much as I did! It was SO much fun to color!

* * *

Run over to TMITA, get YOUR free image, and enter it into the Magical Monday contest! You could be the next winner!

I hope you like it! It's going in the mail to one of you - watch your mailboxes!!!

Have a great day! Happy Stamping!

Mojo Monday....almost missed it!

I really liked the sketch this week at Mojo Monday, and wanted to play along. Monthly reports and the business of the week just seemed to get in the way! However, last night, I was able to find a few minutes to bring out an old stamp (one of my favorites) and pull together a quick card!

Hope you like it! Image is Stampendous, and sentiment is Great Impressions.
Thanks to Milnie, I just found out that this card also fits the "Polka Dot" theme over at Crazy 4 Challenges, so I am entering it there as well!!!
